Cabinets
Cabinetry and millwork are an essential component to any new home construction or remodel project. In the past, there was a perception that cabinets needed to be ‘custom made’ for superior quality. Many times that was entirely true depending on who was building them, especially with many outstanding wood workers. With the advent of ‘semi-custom’, cabinet factories began producing cabinets in components with certain sizes and pieces in order to produce them faster, less expensive and with exceptional quality control. These factories began with the basics but are now able to produce thousands of parts and pieces to fit any design and style with unparalleled finish quality. Along with that factory controlled quality, comes an impressive list of ‘cool’ functional kitchen options. This includes: ‘Smart’ doors that close themselves and can’t be slammed, ‘smart’ drawer slides, pull out trays with recycle bins, pull out appliance shelves, spice rack pull outs, hidden towel bars, and much much more.
Our interest in supplying and installing cabinets involved much deliberation as we began to investigate sales personnel who were familiar with selling this style of cabinet and careful education on which factories would be able to provide the quality, pricing and diversity of style necessary to meet the needs of the customer.
Lynden Floor & Design is proud to say the hard work and investigation of finding the right designers and manufacturers has paid off with the relationships we have developed with our cabinet suppliers. Among others, one company we work with is Medallion Cabinetry out of Oregon who is able to meet the requirements we feel are critical to suit each customer and their individual needs. We also work with others to insure we can cover any need.
Another critical aspect of a successful cabinetry business is the artistic skill and technical prowess of its designers. Our designers sit down with clients to determine their individual style, budget and specific criteria. This requires our designers to set aside their own style preference, guide the customer according to the overall project motif and create a beautiful, functional, and affordable outcome. Once the style and budget have been decided, it just about takes an engineer to navigate the parts catalog. There are thousands of different parts and pieces for size, color and design to complete the masterpiece.
