Green

For years, industry has rolled along using the natural materials from our earth to produce goods for our consumption across the world. Needless to say, we have not been too concerned in the past about the renewability of these resources, feeling secure that they would always be available. Many have come to see that this cannot continue at the current rate of world consumption. We receive a considerable amount of inquiries for products that are friendly to the environment as the importance of sustainability has increased. What are these products as they relate to our industry? Some of the more well known products for flooring are products like bamboo and cork. These products grow readily and quickly in our world thus making them renewable faster than other floor products. Shaw Industries and Eco Wood Flooring are two companies heavily involved in renewable products for flooring, by focusing on new production and recycling.

We also offer renewable wood cabinet products such as domestic Cherry and Alder. Previously these had been overlooked as viable wood species, but are beautiful, grow quickly and are readily available.

At Lynden Floor & Design we offer products in hardwood, cork, carpet and linoleum flooring that support our renewable resources. Another policy of our company is to reuse carpet pads, laminate flooring and hardwoods from existing home remodels and donate them to those in need of floor or carpeting in their homes.
